Important updates about your health

April 28, 2022

Dear Valued Patient,

We want to share some important updates with you about your health and that of your loved ones.

Visitor safety policy

You may have seen recent news about relaxed mask guidelines in public spaces, including airplanes and public transit. However, in accordance with public health guidelines, patients and visitors are still required to wear a mask at all Keck Medicine locations.

To maximize the safety of all who enter our hospitals and outpatient facilities we will continue to conduct COVID-19 screenings at all our locations.

For your convenience, we also offer the option for hospital visitors to pre-screen for COVID-19 through USC Trojan Check, an online tool you can download as an app on your smart phone (iOS or Google). This tool allows you to receive an electronic day pass in the form of a QR code from the comfort of your home and bypass in-person screening.

We are continuing to ask visitors to show proof that they are up-to-date on all COVID vaccinations, including recommended boosters. Those who are unvaccinated or partially vaccinated will need to present a valid negative COVID-19 test.

For more detailed visitor guidelines at Keck Hospital of USC, USC Norris Cancer Hospital or our outpatient offices, please review our policy. You can find the visitor safety policy at USC Verdugo Hills Hospital here.

You may be eligible for a second booster shot

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has authorized a second COVID-19 booster shot for anyone 50 or over or for some people who are immunocompromised. For more details on who should receive the second booster, please refer to the CDC website and consult your doctor.

Keck Medicine offers COVID-19 vaccines, including second booster shots, at our USC Medical Plaza Pharmacy, Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Appointments are not necessary, but if you would like to make an appointment, you can do so here.

The pharmacy is located at USC Medical Plaza Pharmacy, 1510 San Pablo St., #144, Los Angeles, CA 90033.

You can also schedule a COVID-19 vaccine through My Turn.

To learn more about COVID-19 vaccines, please visit our our website.

COVID-19 is still prevalent in our community. We urge you to please continue following all precautions to keep you and your family safe.
