Keck Medicine of USC update: It’s not too late to get vaccinated
Dear Valued Patient,
Memorial Day is the unofficial start of summer. And with it this year, comes the welcome promise of returning to many of the activities we have all been missing.
It is exciting to see that California is recovering from the pandemic. Our state has one of the nation’s highest vaccination rates and lowest COVID-19 rates, and 50% of Los Angeles County residents 16 and older are fully vaccinated.
Already, those who are vaccinated have begun to travel, see friends and family in person and dine indoors at restaurants. On June 15, when the state reopens, almost all of the restrictions we have been living under since the pandemic began will be dropped.
Our vaccination efforts
At Keck Medicine of USC, it has been one of our top priorities to get your life back to normal. One way we have done this is through our extensive COVID-19 vaccination efforts.
We administered our first doses of vaccine in December 2020 and since then have provided 84,000 doses of the vaccine to staff, patients and the community.
Our outreach has included some of the most vulnerable populations, such as those living in underserved areas or who are experiencing homelessness. We also partnered with the University of Southern California to inoculate university staff, faculty and students. We worked with neighborhood schools, area charter schools and local school districts to vaccinate educators to help return students to the classroom. We continue to vaccinate adolescents ages 12 and up.
We are honored that many of you chose Keck Medicine as your vaccine provider and for the opportunity to protect you and your loved ones.
It’s not too late to get vaccinated and don’t forget your routine care
If you haven’t yet been vaccinated, we have plenty of COVID-19 vaccine supply on hand. To make an appointment, click here. We will continue to offer a vaccine clinic into the foreseeable future.
As we recover from the pandemic, it’s also important that you continue to return to your regular screenings and check-ups. As a reminder, we still require that masks are worn inside all our facilities. To make an appointment with your physician, please call (800) USC-CARE (800-872-2273).
While this summer represents a season of hope, I know that some of you have suffered extreme heartache and challenges during the last 14 months. I am feeling optimistic for better days ahead. Again, please know that Keck Medicine is here for you for both your vaccination and regular health care needs.
Thank you for entrusting Keck Medicine with your care.
