Keck Medicine of USC interim CEO ensures safe cancer and preventive care screenings

Dear Valued Patient,

Your health and safety are our top priority, so we are here for you to provide the preventive screenings, treatment for chronic conditions and the acute care you need — today — in a safe environment.

In fact, it’s our commitment to safety and quality that has once again landed Keck Medical Center on U.S. News and World Report’s list of the nation’s top 20 hospitals. In addition, we were ranked in 11 specialty areas. Only 134 hospitals in the nation are ranked in even one specialty.

We are honored by this recognition, a validation of the dedication our staff has to caring for you and your loved ones with compassion, respect and some of the most advanced medicine in the world.

Oncology Needs

Our multilingual, multicultural teams at USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center have made a video in several languages to put any concerns to rest about continuing cancer treatment. You can see it in English, Spanish, Mandarin and Korean.

As anyone who has received cancer care can tell you, screenings are paramount. Please don’t delay your mammogram, colonoscopy, skin cancer or any other screening. Early detection and treatment are still the key to a successful recovery, even during a pandemic.

Routine Checkups

Although we are all focused on protecting ourselves from COVID-19, unfortunately, none of our other health risks have taken a vacation. In fact, we are all under a lot more stress now, and this can exacerbate health conditions, those that are known and unknown. Please attend to your regular preventive visits such as annual physicals, and screenings for diabetes, blood pressure and cholesterol.

We’ve made changes to our environment to ensure both your safety and ours, from temperature checks to masks to social distancing. You can learn more about how we’re keeping everyone safe here.

We have considered every aspect of your care while you’re at Keck Medicine of USC, and we made the changes needed to keep you safe while still preserving the clinical protocols necessary to provide you with the highest-quality treatment.

Please take care of yourself by letting us take care of you. Schedule your checkup today.

Be well,

Rod Hanners
