Keck Medicine of USC named official orthopaedic medical partner of Los Angeles Kings hockey team

LA Kings players and athletes of all levels to receive world-class sports medicine care at new Toyota Sports Performance Center clinic

Keck Medicine of USC is proud to be named the official orthopaedic medical partner of the Los Angeles Kings hockey team. Esteemed physicians from the USC Epstein Family Center for Sports Medicine at Keck Medicine will treat athletes from the LA Kings, Junior Kings, LA Lions and other local youth sports teams, including participants of the LA Kings High School Hockey League, at a new clinic conveniently located inside the Toyota Sports Performance Center (formerly the Toyota Sports Center) where the teams practice. Frank Petrigliano, MD, associate professor of clinical orthopaedic surgery at the Keck School of Medicine of USC and chief of the USC Epstein Family Center for Sports Medicine, will be the head team physician for the LA Kings.

The new El Segundo clinic also will be open to the community with extended hours, providing the South Bay with the same high standards of orthopaedic care available to their beloved sports teams. Walk-in appointments will be available.

“We are excited for this opportunity to work with the LA Kings and bring the expertise of the USC Epstein Family Center for Sports Medicine to the South Bay community,” said Tom Jackiewicz, CEO of Keck Medicine. “We look forward to being a trusted sports medicine partner to athletes of all levels at the Toyota Sports Performance Center.”

The clinic will be staffed with clinical orthopaedic faculty from the Keck School who have significant experience working with professional athletes. These physicians are on the forefront of pioneering medical research and employ the lastest evidence-based recommendations for ideal recovery and rehabilitation.

“Our team is well-versed in advanced, minimally invasive surgical techniques to provide elite athletes and weekend warriors alike with personalized treatment plans for a wide variety of sports injuries,” said Jay Lieberman, MD, chair and professor of orthopaedic surgery at the Keck School and chief of orthopaedic surgery service at Keck Medicine.

“The LA Kings partnership with Keck Medicine of USC is a tremendous opportunity for our organization on the whole and for our local community in particular,” said Luc Robitaille, president of the LA Kings and Hockey Hall of Fame inductee. “We have a great amount of respect for the men and women of Keck Medicine for their world-class medical services and the expertise they provide; and this is the beginning of what we believe will be a wonderful, incredibly beneficial relationship.”

The sports medicine clinic at the Toyota Sports Performance Center is located at 555 N. Nash St., Suite B, El Segundo. To schedule an appointment or learn more about the services provided, call (800) USC-CARE.
